Progress MS-33 Undocking
The Russian Progress MS-33 cargo spacecraft (designated Progress 94 by the US) undocked from the zenith port of the Poisk module of the International Space Station at 1516 UTC. The cosmonauts aboard the station have been busy filling it with obsolete hardware and other waste. At 1827 UTC it performed a de-orbit burn and fell into the atmosphere, where it was destroyed. It will be replaced at the Poisk zenith docking port by Progress MS-35, which was scheduled to launch on Wednesday but has apparently been delayed by an issue with the Soyuz rocket's third stage, though there is not yet official confirmation of this. While the cosmonauts monitored Progress MS-33's departure, The NASA and ESA astronauts aboard the station had the day off for the US Labor Day federal holiday. [Source: NASA]
